Ibrahim Fernandez was born in Abidjan. His fashion inspiration derives from his mother who owns a textile shop. He spent his childhood working in the world of textiles helping his mother with the choices of colors and patterns of print cloths.
At the age of 25, he decided to make clothes with regard to the African print cloth. From his efforts he created a new chic style, class, trendy and avant-garde that had many people talking. His designs were very impressive and from there his own friends began to order clothes from him. It was at this moment Ibrahim then soon realizes the extent of his talent and decided to go into the world of fashion.
He decided to create his clothing line. “Zango”, which means “Well Dressed” in the Ivorian slang. Ibhrahim has had a tremendous growth since.
In 2016, he participated in the Arts Market of African Performing (MASA) and Fashion Week Lome. He also worked with mainstream musicians and celebrities and was the guest on the “Trend” fashion show. His latest collection “Glamrock” was inspired by the musical movement of the 70s with figures such as David Bowie behind the inspiration. Ibrahim Fernandez is undoubtedly one of the young hopes of African Fashion and definitely one to watch.
